SUMMER LUNCH – SATURDAY, AUGUST 7

The Midsummer Lunch and walks are a key social occasion and for the last few years we have enjoyed the hospitality of the Four Horseshoes at Checkendon. With the departure of the long-established landlord, we decided that a new venue is in order, so this year we will be meeting on Saturday, August 7, at the recently re-opened Bird in Hand at the crossroads south of Sonning Common (see details below). Last year we had an excellent turn-out of both walkers and those who come just for the lunch. So come along and let’s make it another great social occasion.

Lunch will be at 1pm will be a buffet of cold meats and salads (with a vegetarian option), drinks extra. There will be long and short walks in the morning and an optional short walk in the afternoon. Cost is £9.00 per head. Lunch bookings to Dave Sayer by 31 July please. Any queries, ring 947 5074.
